24 HR MTB

Hi uys not sure if any one can help but i am training for a 24 hr mtb race and trying to use the new AI forecast selecting event and entering the details as best as possible to outline the race but there is an option for 12hr which i have selected at the moment but no 24 hr option obviously this is a small market but was wondering if that is the best option to train to or is there some other tricks of the Xert trade to better leverage the system that i haven’t yet mastered ( am stillnew to the Xet way of thinking coming from other training methods) any help would be much appreciated.

Hey Gavin. Thanks for your message!

24 hour races are super tough events and obviously fitness plays a key role but so do things like your fueling and dealing with cramps and sores. Lots of variables to address.

In terms of training, the more training you can do before the event the better. For many, it becomes how much volume can you fit into your schedule. You should avoid intensity that affects your recovery since that might slow down your ability to add volume.

If you have a 24 hour race file, I’d use that with Race AI. You can adjust your Event Readiness to a value that provides a plan that you could follow. You’ll likely be limited by your weekly hours in the end. The better your Event Readiness, the better your fitness will be at the start of the event. Try that and report back here on what you came up with. Curious.
