Worked the first time, but now The Garmin magic bucket Field is stuck at “waiting for targets” even though I just completed a workout which synced. Is it because Xert is getting it from Strava instead of Garmin? Do I have to disconnect the Strama sync from my Xert account?
Hi Kurt, make sure you have Garmin Connect app open on your phone & that it’s connected to your Garmin. That’s needed to fetch the targets. Once the fetch is successful, then you can put your phone away. It’s no longer needed!
I believe there is a bug with the latest version (1.8.3) preventing it from fetching new targets after saving or discarding a started activity. The workaround is to switch to a different profile or back. Or simply power off and turn it on again. I mentioned it to the developer, so it will likely be fixed in the next release.
I did have GC open and verified sync with the Edge, but still would not refresh the buckets.
Now I’m n noticing that for some reason XERT isn’t directly syncing with Garmin, only Strava. When I try to connect the apps, it opens up Garmin Connect “connected apps” page, where all of my apps that have a Garmin connection are shown, but there is no option for XERT. Tried making the connection on using both the Garmin app, and also directly signed into Garmin Connect on webpage. Very strange, can’t figure out how to get the connection option. XERT is seeing all of my workouts, via Strava.
I’m not use if you can find it in the routes with a brand new account. It used to be a level of cap to be at least level 10 to ride it but it’s been reduced to 6. If you have a 7 day free trial it should be no trouble to get over that, the first few levels only take a few rides.
You can also pick a workout first and then a route; I’m not sure if the level lock applies in workouts or only free rides. Another was is to join an event that is on that route or ride with someone on your friends list who has already picked that route.
If you want to go I am doing a virtual Everesting next saturday, that’s only 8 and half times
