Garmin has no ability to beta test apps/data fields, so most of the updates you’ve seen there are just bug-fixing smaller issues from previous versions, rather than any significant improvements. Since we can actually beta test the mobile apps, they tend to see fewer (but more significant) updates.
Good news is that we are working on some major updates to the iOS app, including a bunch of exciting new features, including Magic Buckets 
I know this is something that many are looking forward to!
