I have filled all my buckets today. On the Karoo, 103 XSS easy, 11.5 XSS high and 4 XSS Peak were shown as done. And this is now displayed to me on the Xert Dashboard:
Can you confirm that both were using the same signature? That’s what I’d look at. If the Karoo was offline, it may be using a stale signature. Both EBC and the server use the exact same code (not just the formula) for calculating XSS.
Next time check that the signature gets updated. It should do so when wifi connects. Send a note to support if it doesn’t with the specific steps you did. We can look to replicate the issue and fix it.
I just noticed something else. I was at challenge level 9 and at least 10-15 seconds at maximum because I wanted to make a breakthrough. But as listed above, my MPA has barely dropped.
I think you misunderstood me or I don’t understand. At the beginning the buckets were exactly as intended, so they were exactly the same on my Karoo as on the Xert Dashboard. I filled them all and was, as already mentioned, 10-15 seconds above Challenge Level 9, which should have given a breakthrough. Only after uploading to Xert there was this giant difference.
Can you do something with the fitfile? There I get an XSS of 115. That doesn’t fit the value on Xert.
That would suggest that the signature used in EBC was different than the signature used by the server. The fit file doesn’t store the signature unfortunately.
Does this happen every ride?
Send us specifics what you are doing since it is not happening broadly.
If the signature was not right, when exactly will the app get the signature on the Karoo? Do I have to be in the app beforehand and in the wifi? Or is it enough if the Karoo is connected to the mobile phone via bluetooth?
Garmin devices use a BT connection to Garmin Connect on your phone to sync current signature and fetch bucket targets when XMB is run.
EBC is an Android or iOS app that runs on a phone directly so the fetch is by mobile data connection.
The Karoo is Android device without a SIM so it requires access to Wi-Fi or phone tethering (BT) to connect to XO server.
Your signature values display at the top of the EBC app when started.
If you still have your Garmin you could test with that in parallel and see if signature and XSS targets match the Today page when you select Magic Buckets on both the Karoo and Garmin.
I wouldn’t call that “barely dropped”.
Make the activity public under activity details and post the url.
Garmin was just better, I have now decided to sell the Karoo again and buy a new Garmin, probably the 1050. Not only because of the magic buckets but also because of the navigation during the use of the buckets and support of my di2 gearshift.
